Time is 14:30 on a sunday afternoon the hotel telefone rings
“Ring ring”
Me: Hello
Hotel clerk: Yes sir you home now?
Me: (thinking “well duh”) Yes, well yes I am
Hotel clerk: I send a man to fix you AC for 2 minutes OK?
Me: Very fine by me!
-30 minutes later-
Someone is banging and fixing with the AC from the outside. I get a little bit worried that he might get electrocuted if he continues working on it if I don´t turn it off. So I go down to the reception and ask
Me: Hi I just wanted to know if I should turn off the AC while the repairman is working on it so he wont get shocked?
Hotel clerk: Wait wait sire, (he follows me up to the room and looks at the AC for a moment.) You do feel any smell?
Me: eh no… no smell just a lot of noise when it is on. I just wanted to know if you want me to shut it off when he’s working on it?
Hotel Clerk: No sir no no no it’s ok. He just closing hole in other side, because pigeons and decease they bring and rats have eat whole in AC so he closing it.
Me: OK very good (thinking: Ahh off course the rats and the deceases and the pigeons in my AC I should have known the obvious reason he would be working on my AC, there is nothing unusual about rats and pigeons in a hotel)
Hotel clerk: Yes! hope no more smell
Me: (me still thinking about the rats and pigeons in my AC) Yes very very good, I just wanted to know if I should shut it off to avoid all the electrocution part.
Hotel clerk: No no, no problem sir.
…O well back to work then…
